Hello Dear Pilgrimagers (We are definitely on a long journey with a purpose, aren't we!)
How are you doing? A get together is still on my heart and mind. With our local Body of Believers, at the Well Community Church, we are starting up Life Groups and so that has been where my time and energy has been lately and loving on my family. As soon as we get through this week, I am going to take some time and plan a special reunion. Remember when some of us were able to have lunch at the Save Mart Center? O how I loved meeting some of you and reuniting with others!
If any of you love to plan and would want to be apart of a Fresno Get Together, feel free to leave that in your comment. Betty and Sue, you will be with us in our hearts!
Are you ready? Verse #18. I am being changed as I meditate and memorize Psalm 84. His Word is life and is powerful and it penetrates to the deepest places of my soul.
1. What is your verse? (Even if it is one you have already written down and haven't quite gotten down, rewrite it in the comment section. This is a great way to help it sink deeper and deeper in our hearts and minds.)
2. What is a "next step" for you as a disciple of Christ? On Sunday, we were challenged to ask ourselves this question.
3. I love you. Just wanted you to know!
May we see and savor Jesus today!

Morning!
1. As they pass through the Valley of Baca, they make it a place of springs, the autumn rains also cover it with pools. Psalm 84:6
2. I feel like I am in the midst of my "next step"...one that the Lord has had us in for a while. As a disciple of Christ I am growing in the area of being sacrificially generous. Brian and I love to give what the Lord has provided with time, talent, and treasure. We are seeking Him as to what that looks like in this economy with multiple pay cuts. The Lord is stretching my organizational muscles and I am learning how to coupon to help save money. Lord, o how I desire to see your glory with everything we have! It is all yours!
I am so excited to hear your verses and where the Lord is growing you!
Tami Anderson said,
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6
I am memorizing this verse to help me remember that trusting the Lord will always end in the best possible outcome for my life, where as leaning on my own understanding causes heartache, and wrong choices.
My "next step" as a disciple of Christ would be to continue to grow in the area of being relationally healthy.
1. "And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him." 1 John 4:16
2. My next step as a disciple of Christ would to be more biblically formed. I am working on this by memorizing scripture on this team, through the Academy class that I just started, and through a daily bible devotional that my husband and I read together.

1. "Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted. Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." (Galatians 6:1-2)
2. My next step . . . learning how to speak truth in love. Kind of why I chose this verse. Confronting sin, and then helping people through it. I feel such a burden to confront sin with truth, it's the entering in and walking through the mess that's hard and painful for me. It's a part of shepherding that isn't my favorite, but I know speaking truth is the most loving thing you can do to help someone grow closer to Christ. So thankful the Holy Spirit is the agent of change, our Refiner.
1) "'But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us!' And Jesus said to him, '"If You can?" All things are possible to him who believes.' Immediately the boy's father cried out and said, 'I do believe; help my unbelief.'" Mark 9:22b-24
2) I think I'm in the middle of my next step, which is overcoming insecurity and instead believing the Lord and clinging to His truth in all circumstances. I learned this spring and summer that I'm fairly lousy at this and somewhat of an insecure mess! ;) It is hard to overcome old habits and patterns of thought, but I am enjoying the ability to see through the lies in my head more quickly and to recognize when I am in the middle of facing insecurity (as opposed to thinking of it as normal). As with all else, being in the midst of the Lord's refining fire is hard, but somehow refreshing, too...this has been the theme of my summer, and I've had lots of practice as the Lord continually brings situations from my depths to the surface with which to deal and skim off (!), but it's been good to slowly get rid of the ugly. This pursuit has leant itself beautifully to learning to love others well in the process, which is what my small group studied through this summer. I would love to move on to a new next step, but I'm fairly certain He's not done with me here yet! ;)
1. I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago, I will mediate on all your works and consider all your mighty deeds.
Psalm 77:11-12, NIV
2. My next step as a disciple of Christ is to sink deeper into His Word. A few Sundays back Mike Slayden was teaching about the Good Samaritan and he said that if you squeeze a Christian what you should get out of him is Christ. I want to know that if I am squeezed, the result will be a Christ centered answer/action. In order to do that; I need to meditate on his Words more. What drew me to the verse that I chose for these next two weeks, is that I need to remember God's faithfulness, what he has done and what he will do! His deeds are mighty and so instead of building an alter to remember what the Lord has done, I want to know his Words by heart so that my actions reflect who He is.
Ladies, I am so blessed by each of you! Encouraged. Challenged.
From Betty:
1. To one who knows the right thing to do, and does not do it, to him, it is sin (James 4:17, NASB).
2. My next step is to seek the Lord with all of my heart to be delivered from what this verse speaks of. All through my life I have been guilty of not doing what I knew I should do and that is sin. I know it comes from selfishness and thinking myself more important that others,so I pray to become selfless.
I am so thankful to be in a group of such wonderful and faithful women.
