Good Morning,

Luke 10:27(NIV)

27 He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”

I chose this verse because we memorized it this past weekend with 35 kids from the inner city at a family camp.

They hid this verse in their heart, used hand motions to learn it and then shared it at a talent show. It was beautiful and lots of fun.

13 of our kids accepted Jesus this weekend as their Lord and Savior. My prayer request is that these kids will grow in their faith and live for the Lord all the days of their lives despite any deficiencies they might live with.

Summer plans: a trip to Phoenix to watch Amber play volleyball, a 2 week trip to Idaho and the Northwest, and lots swimming.

Have a blessed month everyone. Love viv

1. For the glory of your name, O Lord, preserve my life. Because of your faithfulness, bring me out of this distress.
~Psalm 143:11, NLT

2.I chose this verse because I've been going through so, so, so, much lately, I NEED God, I NEED to keep reminding myself that He IS faithful and that He does guarantee promises and that He WILL bring me out of my distress.

3.Unsure at the moment, I'm in between some very tough choices that will predict my summer plans.

4.God knows my heart, He knows my troubles, He knows my concerns. Right now I really need discernment and guidance. And if I'm given an answer that is from the Lord, just please be praying for me that I will have the faith to step out and follow Him. Please just pray for me sisters.

From Adele:
Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God”, for God cannot be tempted by evil and He Himself does not tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust. Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin, and when sin is accomplished it brings forth death.

James 1:13-15 NASB

1. “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5, ESV)

2. Reminded to keep the "main thing", the main thing-abiding in Christ. That my pursuit of Him would be intentional and consistent, otherwise I'm doing life in my strength.

3. I'll start a new job this summer, yay!!

4. Prayer for the relationships I've made with my students this year-that they'd continue to grow. Considering a discipleship group with them this summer. Also, doors are opening with my neighbors. Back to praying Colossians 4:2-4 there too!!

Vivian-I want to hear more about this family camp?? Sounds amazing-13 new lives in Christ!!

This is Charlotte! Not anonymous.

Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me, for in you my soul takes refuge; in the shadow of your wings I will take refuge, till the storms of destruction pass by. I cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills his purpose for me. Psalm 57:1-2

I didn't choose this verse, Yvonne chose it for me! I've been a little behind in memorizing and I feel busy, so I asked her to give me a verse :)
My plans for the summer consist of working full-time. I also started waking up extra early to walk and be with Jesus, and then meet with a friend from work at Starbucks, where we read the Bible together and discuss it. I need those mornings with the Lord! My perspective is drastically different without them.
I also get to go home to Fresno in July for a short weekend to be a part of a friend's wedding. It will be good to be with everyone I love, even for a little while.

You can be praying for me as I continually seek the Lord on how to best steward my time. You can also pray that I would have a joyful heart, as I am missing some people back home very much! I know this is where Im supposed to be, but it definitely comes with a cost.

Have a wonderful week!

I was all excited to read your verses and forgot to post mine.

Vivian, I second Melissa, will you email me more of your inner city camp weekend and I will post it?

Mandy, thank you for allowing us to see your need for the Lord. Will you update us on how He's working things out in you?

Char, can you share abit about the someone special in your life that makes you smile? :)

Melissa, I can't wait for you to start your new job! Tell us more about it! I am so looking forward to seeing pictures of your students who will receive Bibles! Abiding in Christ-oh how I long to sink deeper and deeper into Jesus.

1. Psalm 57:1, 2 ESV
Be merciful to me, o God, be merciful to me, for in you my soul takes refuge; in the shadow of your wings I will take refuge, till the storms of destruction pass by. I cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills His purpose for me.

2. I am memorizing these verses because a friend of mine wanted to memorize it and I am in desperate need of His mercy and shelter and I believe He is the God Most High, above all!

3. Summer plans: Ashlyn graduates from High School next week. The following week Brian and friends and family surprised me with a trip to Israel to walk and study God's Word in the Promised Land. I fly into the States and directly to Wyoming to the Grand Teton Mountains for a week with 16 of the Downs family members...that is June. I feel challenged, blessed, overjoyed, thankful.

4. My heart hurts for those close to us who are going through extremely difficult times. I need wisdom to know how to love them on this journey. Thank you!

1. My verse
"And now, dear children, continue in him, so that when he appears we may be confident and unashamed before him at his coming." I John 2:28

2. I chose this verse because I was looking for a verse about HOPE. I have been putting off choosing my verse for 2 reason. One I felt i didn't know what to memorize...I had fallen back into my numb feeling, and second I thought "I don't have time until the weekend". Well both were just excuses. You know the kind of excuses that we sometimes choose in order to make ourselves feel better about not spending time with God. I do have to say that I read my bible this week in search of my verse, but did not find it until today.
Wow, that was long answer. And I have more to add too! This verse does mean hope to me, as well as a call to action to continue to seek him, it means perseverance. An above all this verse means to me that I need to take the focus off myself and put it back on God where it belongs. I am a child of God and I live in his kingdom, so I should act like it!

3. My summer plans are not too exciting. I have work, a few weddings (hooray!) and a new nephew being born in July.

4. Ways to be praying for me are to continue to seek him daily and also for my marriage. I'm praying that my husband and myself can grow closer together in Christ. Maybe pray together or read the Bible together, or at least talk about God and his impact in our lives. Right now we go to church together and that is about where our walk with Christ together stops.

Hi friends-

1.Jeremiah 6:16-
This is what the LORD says: Stop at the crossroads and look around. Ask for the old, godly way, and walk in it. Travel it's path, and you will find rest for your souls. But you reply, "no that's not the road we want."
2. I chose this because I am in need to being yanked off the path I am currently on and put back on a path toward God.
3. No official summer plans. just going to try and enjoy the "stay-cation." Sleeping in until whenever we want and not having to be anywhere at any given time. Sounds pretty good to me.
4. You can be praying that I would be
willing and available to have my mind renewed by christ every moment of the day. Pray that I would lay down my pride and idols that I know what is best for my own life.

Bethany
Psalm 84:5-7
Blessed are those whose strength is in you, who have set their heart on pilgrimage. As they pass through the valley of Baca, they make it a place of springs; the autumn rains also cover it with pools. They go from strength to strength till each appears before God in Zion. I chose this verse because I just finished the dvds for the study stepping up and wanted to remember what I learned.
Summer plans: work, work, work! Maybe a beach trip or two also
Prayer request: job hunting. Pray that find something that fits my schedule, abilities, and needs better.

1.Psalm 119:133 (NIV). Direct my footsteps according to your word; let no sin rule over me.

2.I chose this verse because I sin over the same thing over and over again. At age 57,I find myself living with my 82 year old mother and am not as kind as I should be to her. This is the battle I am in.

3.My summer will be caring for my grandchildren while my daughters work.

4.Please pray that my heart will soften towards my mother.
